RESIDENTIAL ENERGY AUDIT
The path toward making your home more energy efficient begins with a residential energy audit. All of the auditors we have on staff are certified by the Building Performance Institute. They will conduct a complete analysis of your home. This includes an exterior inspection to ensure the structure is sound and there are no safety issues. An interior inspection is also performed, which involves taking a look at the crawl space under your home and the attic, as well as testing the lighting.
A blower door test will be conducted to determine the existence and location of any drafts or air leaks. Combustion safety tests are also done to make sure there are no gas leaks and carbon monoxide levels are within acceptable parameters. We also take infrared thermal images to see if there are any problem areas with heating or cooling in your home.
AIR SEALING & INSULATION
Air sealing and insulation go hand-in-hand. There’s no point to insulation if air enters or escapes your home by other means. Our technicians can provide both of these services to ensure your family’s comfort and that appliances aren’t working harder or longer than necessary.
One of the most important areas of a home that’s often under-insulated is the attic. We can conduct blown-in cellulose attic insulation to cover every nook and cranny of your attic, which ensures there’s no air exchange between this space and the rooms below. Since every attic also requires a ventilation system, we’re able to install both soffit vents and gable vents to ensure proper roof ventilation, which protects your home.
