Indoor Air Quality

Indoor HVAC units for the Rochester, NY, area

The single biggest factor keeping most people from keeping their air ducts clean is access. Even the most intrepid DIYer is likely to balk at the prospect of crawling through ducts or purchasing an expensive snaking system to get the job done (and even then, success isn't guaranteed!) At Taylor Heating Inc, we've got the equipment and experience necessary to maintain your ducts in perfect shape, preventing excess dust, mold and mites from taking hold in your system. In addition to your health, your power bill will take a significant hit as your system efficiently drops precipitously. When you call Taylor, you can count on fast, effective service, so get in touch to schedule routine maintenance!

Our approach to duct cleaning

Registers
  • We remove all registers, vents and grilles.
  • We clean and sanitize all registers, grilles and vents for appearance as well as health concerns.
Supply runs and returns
  • With registers and grilles removed, we vacuum and clean as far as we can reach.
  • We blow high-pressure compressed air into each run, scraping dirt and debris from the sides.
  • The compressed air pushes the debris through the piping all the way to the main trunks.
  • We cut 1″ holes into the runs for access and cap them with plastic plugs.
Main trunks, supply and return
  • We connect a high-powered vacuum to the main trunk in the basement before we start the cleaning process.
  • The high-powered vacuum helps draw all the debris being blown down from the individual runs.
  • We cut access panels into the trunk to ensure each cavity of the trunk can be efficiently cleaned.
  • HEPA filters in the vacuum eliminate dust and debris from allowing contaminants into the air you breathe.
  • You can inspect the ducting through the access ports.
  • After inspection, we seal these access ports so no heat or air conditioning is lost during equipment operation.
Optional duct sanitizing
  • Through the same access holes we used for the duct cleaning, we fog a chemical into the ductwork, which will kill any mold in the ductwork.
  • After the chemical dries, we fog an enzyme into the ductwork, which will lie dormant until molds start to build up, at which time the enzyme will eat away the molds.
  • All chemicals and enzymes that we use at Taylor Heating, Inc. are biodegradable, non-toxic, and USDA-accepted.

Expert UV light installation

We are UV light installation experts!

Ultra-violet (UV) light technology is a proven, economical, and effective way to control sub-micron fungal, bacterial, and viral organisms that are too small to be captured by standard filtration methods.

With tighter building construction in recent years, the quality of indoor air has declined dramatically. The air circulating in the duct work of the average home can be concentrated with contaminants, including molds, bacteria, viruses, and dust mites. We fill our lungs up to 20,000 times each day. Over time, these contaminants can cause inflammation of the mucous membranes, upper respiratory problems, asthmatic conditions, headaches, and flu-like symptoms.

Filtering systems offer little or no help because these airborne contaminants either pass through the filter or simply collect on the filter medium, creating a breeding ground. Taylor Heating, Inc. offers a solution that directly address the problems associated with poor indoor air quality: We install the UV-Aire Air Purifying System for our customers.

Air cleaner experts!

Air pollution is a serious problem — especially inside your home. The EPA has named indoor air pollution as one of the top 5 environmental risks to public health. The EPA also reports that indoor air can be up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air.

You may be offered many options for keeping the air in your home clean — standard 1″ furnace filters, portable purifiers, and ionizers – but there’s only one truly effective solution: a whole-house air cleaner.

Don’t just treat the symptoms – remove the problems from the air in every room of your house, from your bedroom to your basement, with a whole-house air cleaning system from Taylor Heating, Inc.!

Taylor Heating, Inc. installs the Aprilaire line of high-efficiency air cleaners to help rid your home of harmful contaminants. Whether a media-style air cleaner or an electronic air cleaner, Aprilaire air cleaners are easy to use, need very little maintenance, and will give you many, many years of reliable service.

Whole-house humidification

Turning up the temperature in your home in the wintertime will keep you warm, but won’t increase your home’s humidity level. Daily activities such as showering, cooking, and doing laundry don’t produce enough moisture to keep your home’s air from being too dry.

Don’t go through another season with these problems when there is a solution: a whole-home humidifier.

A whole-home humidifier installed by Taylor Heating Inc will deliver the perfect amount of moisture to the air in your home, making you feel more comfortable at lower thermostat settings. That saves you money – the EPA says you can save up to 4% on your heating bill for every degree you lower your thermostat! Increase your family’s level of comfort and protect your valuable furnishings by adding just the right amount of moisture to your home’s air with an Aprilaire Whole-House Humidifier installed by Taylor Heating Inc.

We are committed to using only the finest humidifiers on the market today, and Aprilaire humidifiers are the most innovative in the industry. An Aprilaire humidifier with an auto-track humidistat continually monitors and responds to both outdoor temperatures and indoor humidity levels, delivering optimum levels of humidity throughout your home.
